It all started with the Spaghetti Dinner. The Capitol Hill Chorale was hosting its annual Spring Fundraiser: A spaghetti dinner with entertainment. Thea Austen and Parker Jayne approached several Sopranos and Altos from CHC and offered to select and arrange a piece to perform as a group. A few rehearsals later, this small group performed the Hallelujah Chorus to mildly thunderous applause!
We returned to the Spaghetti Dinner again and again, singing folk songs of love from Eastern Europe and jumping in as back up for Elvis impersonators. We were invited to perform as part of the Willard Intercontinental Hotel’s Holiday Caroling for the first time in 2010 with a diverse program of holiday music from classic carols to modern folk. In 2014, we joined Tina Chancey and Howard Bass of Trio Sephardi for a holiday concert at The Corner Store. In 2015, we expanded the show to two nights, with a narration of the Christmas Story by consummate story teller Steve Winnick.
In 2016, we set up this site to showcase our growing library of arrangements by Parker Jayne. Where possible, we’ve made copies available for use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. You are welcome to download and use these works with proper attribution.
